I have been one busy little bee in the the almost 2 months since I last posted anything to this blog. I'm working on two major assignments for my photo classes I'm taking, I created a new promotional piece, and I have been taking LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of photos of some amazing people... Oh and on a non photography related issue I got ENGAGED!! So yes I have been busy but that is really no excuse for my lack of posting LOL. To make it up to you I'm going to post a whole bunch of pictures today. YAY!!!!
So this semester I'm taking a Portfolio Development class. For my portfolio I am taking portraits of children. I've had some really great models and been able to create some truly unique images. Below are just a small sample of the great images I was able to capture.
It's also been that time of year when I get to photograph High School Seniors. Here are a few of my favorite senior portrait images.
For my Fashion and Glamor class I'm putting together a model portfolio for a friend of mine. Here are just a few of those images too. She has done a great job. I'm very excited about these images. :)
So that is just some of the pictures I have taken recently. There are many, many more to see on my Facebook page.
On a side note I am running a special for the holidays. For $150 you get a 2 hour photo session for up to 6 people (+$10 per additional person). 2 5X7's, 1 8X10, and 25 Holiday Cards. This is a savings of over $100. This is a deal you really shouldn't pass up. :)

Marcus
So I'm playing a little bit of catch up right now. June turned out to be quite a busy month for me. I'm just editing away trying to make sure that everyone receives their photos in a timely matter. I gotta say I'm not used to this and it has honestly caught me a little off guard, but at the same time I love it. I really like the feeling of being busy, so please keep it coming. lol
So in my below post I introduced you all to Marcus. In case you don't remember, he is my neighbors adorable baby son. Well a few weeks ago I got the opportunity to photograph him again. This time he is 4 months old and wearing the same outfit that his daddy wore for pictures when he was that age.
Here are some of my favorite images from that session. Isn't he the cutest thing ever?
Thanks for taking the time to check us out. I will be posting more images as I finishing editing them. Please tell all of your friends about this pages and ask them to add it. Thanks so much and I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th.

Some of My Favorite Photos
I'll admit I'm a little behind I should have started this blog a long time ago. As a result I have a lot of photos to show, but I don't want to flood this page with a hundred images right off the bat. Instead I'm just going to share some of my favorite photos. If you are interested in seeing my full portfolio it can been seen at My Facebook Page.
This is a picture of my photographer friend Tami and her daughter. This was a really fun photo shoot because I got to take some great pictures of her and her daughter, and then she took some beautiful pictures of me and my boyfriend.
This little cutie is the daughter of my friend, Chelsea. She was one of the easiest children I have ever worked with. Not to mention she is so darn cute.
This one makes me laugh every time I see it. This is another photo that I took for a class assignment. We had to take an image of a commercial product with a model. I thought for a long time about what I wanted to photograph. I finally decided that Band Hero would be fun and interesting, so I asked my mom, my sister, and my sister's boyfriend if they would model for me. I originally wanted to photograph them in a living room, and make it look like they were actually playing the game. Once I started to set up it became obvious to me that the living room would not work. I started to think it would be cool to put them in a place where they didn't belong. These railroad tracks are one of my favorite places to shoot and made a great backdrop for this photo. The best part of this whole photo shoot was the strange looks we kept getting from the people who saw us walking around on the Folsom bike path with Band Hero equipment. LOL
This photo is from my first maternity shoot. This is my beautiful neighbor Abby and her husband Chad. It was a really icky day out and I think it had been raining earlier. When it is overcast outside all the colors in a photograph really pop. I just love the blue and green tones in this photo.
This little guy here is Marcus and he is the product of the above maternity shoot. I shot this in Abby and Chad's dinning room using only window light and a reflector.
That is all I have for now. I have many many more images that can been seen at My Facebook Page. I'll also be posing more pictures soon. If you are interested in scheduling a photo session my packages start at $99 and I can be reached via email ztzlbrgr@yahoo.com or on Facebook. Have a great Saturday everyone !

Introducing Blue Gate Photography
Hi everyone and welcome to my blog. My name is Nicole and I am Blue Gate Photography. I love photography! We live in such an amazingly beautiful world I can't help but want to capture that. I'm the type of person who can find beauty in just about anything. When I'm driving down the road I'll look around and think about how I can make what I'm seeing into a great photograph.
I think I always loved photography. I can remember as a child and teenager I would get a hold of my mom's camera and take pictures of things that thought were cool. This extended into adulthood. In my group of friends I was always the one with the camera taking pictures of everyone else.
Two and a half years ago I finally got my first digital SLR camera. My Nikon D40X, I was instantly in love. I read everything I could about photography. I wanted to know how to take the kind of pictures the professionals take. I would spend hours reading online photography forums so I could learn new techniques and make my photos better. Then last May I got laid off from my job. I had been wanting to go back to school to pursue my passion further I just had not had the time and opportunity. I enrolled into classes at Sacramento City College and am currently working toward and A.A. in Photography.
