New Things at Bluegatephoto.com

Hi Guys!!!!!!!

So many exciting things are happening over here at Blue Gate Photography I can hardly contain myself. The first being the launch of a totally new website. If you haven't checked it out yet then you better run over and do it now!!!! Go to www.bluegatephoto.com then come back here and tell me what you think. I love it and I think you will too.

The next exciting thing would have to be my brand spankin new Logo. Alli Gerriets of Alli Gerriets Design created it for me and I just LOVE it. Check it out below and then go to www.alligerriets.com and check her out. If you need any graphics design work done I would totally recommend her.

I'm also working on some pretty cool new photo shoots and concepts. If you have been to my website or my Facebook recently then you have probably seen the Senior Portraits with the bright vibrant colors I have been posting. This is an ongoing project I will be working on for the next few months and a style I would like to apply to other areas of my work. Below is a sample of what I have been working on and there will be a lot more to come.

Wood Family

Hello all you people out there in Blog-land. I have been a busy little worker these last few weeks. I have a new website and it is all up and running. Go to www.bluegatephoto.com and check it out.

I've also been shooting some really great images and I have a few to show you today. I had the honor of photographing the Wood family on Super Bowl Sunday this year. I'm so happy they took some time out of their game day to hike around Old Folsom with me. Their girls are so cute and so fun to photograph. I hope you enjoy their family pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them

Family

Happy February everyone!!!! This is a very exciting time for Blue Gate Photography. I have officially been in business for a whole year and I am going to be launching a new website and an overhaul of my blog in the next few weeks. Woo Hoo!!! I've also got some great ideas brewing for photos and will have a whole new system for ordering prints. This little photographer is about about to be all grown up. :) Right now I'm playing a little catch up here. I haven't posted anything on this blog since November and I have lots of cool work to show you. Since I have so much to post I'm going to do this in phases. Today is family portrait day!!

Here are some of my favorite family portraits from November and December of 2010.

Bailey/ Foerstel Family

This was such a fun photo shoot. I've know Anne for quite a few years, we used to work together back in my escrow days. So, when she contacted me to take her family portraits I was super excited. This family is so awesome you can totally tell that they all really care about each other and have a lot of fun together.

McLean Family

I think this is one of the first Family sessions I did last fall and boy was it fun. We found a really awesome park with great colorful leaves to take their photos and they all wore colors that went so well with the surroundings. They are such a cute family and I'm so glad I got an opportunity to photograph them.
Stemen Family

I just love the colors in these photos. Everyone in this family was so photogenic and really made my job easy.
Fitzpatrick Family

Alright this is my last family for right now. Back in October I got to photograph the two little girls in this family for Halloween. They are both just so cute you can't help but get good photos of them. This time I got to photograph the whole family, and wouldn't you know; mom and dad are just as photogenic as their girls. Come on guys your making my job too easy. :)Well that is it for today. I have lots more to show you so I should be putting up a new blog post in the next few days. Also keep an eye out for my new website, and if you are interested in getting your family portraits done contact me today. :)

What I Have Been Up To.

I have been one busy little bee in the the almost 2 months since I last posted anything to this blog. I'm working on two major assignments for my photo classes I'm taking, I created a new promotional piece, and I have been taking LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of photos of some amazing people... Oh and on a non photography related issue I got ENGAGED!! So yes I have been busy but that is really no excuse for my lack of posting LOL. To make it up to you I'm going to post a whole bunch of pictures today. YAY!!!!

So this semester I'm taking a Portfolio Development class. For my portfolio I am taking portraits of children. I've had some really great models and been able to create some truly unique images. Below are just a small sample of the great images I was able to capture.

It's also been that time of year when I get to photograph High School Seniors. Here are a few of my favorite senior portrait images.

For my Fashion and Glamor class I'm putting together a model portfolio for a friend of mine. Here are just a few of those images too. She has done a great job. I'm very excited about these images. :)

So that is just some of the pictures I have taken recently. There are many, many more to see on my Facebook page.

On a side note I am running a special for the holidays. For $150 you get a 2 hour photo session for up to 6 people (+$10 per additional person). 2 5X7's, 1 8X10, and 25 Holiday Cards. This is a savings of over $100. This is a deal you really shouldn't pass up. :)

Marcus

So I'm playing a little bit of catch up right now. June turned out to be quite a busy month for me. I'm just editing away trying to make sure that everyone receives their photos in a timely matter. I gotta say I'm not used to this and it has honestly caught me a little off guard, but at the same time I love it. I really like the feeling of being busy, so please keep it coming. lol

So in my below post I introduced you all to Marcus. In case you don't remember, he is my neighbors adorable baby son. Well a few weeks ago I got the opportunity to photograph him again. This time he is 4 months old and wearing the same outfit that his daddy wore for pictures when he was that age.

Here are some of my favorite images from that session. Isn't he the cutest thing ever?

Thanks for taking the time to check us out. I will be posting more images as I finishing editing them. Please tell all of your friends about this pages and ask them to add it. Thanks so much and I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th.

Some of My Favorite Photos

I'll admit I'm a little behind I should have started this blog a long time ago. As a result I have a lot of photos to show, but I don't want to flood this page with a hundred images right off the bat. Instead I'm just going to share some of my favorite photos. If you are interested in seeing my full portfolio it can been seen at My Facebook Page.

This is a picture of my photographer friend Tami and her daughter. This was a really fun photo shoot because I got to take some great pictures of her and her daughter, and then she took some beautiful pictures of me and my boyfriend.

This little cutie is the daughter of my friend, Chelsea. She was one of the easiest children I have ever worked with. Not to mention she is so darn cute.

This one makes me laugh every time I see it. This is another photo that I took for a class assignment. We had to take an image of a commercial product with a model. I thought for a long time about what I wanted to photograph. I finally decided that Band Hero would be fun and interesting, so I asked my mom, my sister, and my sister's boyfriend if they would model for me. I originally wanted to photograph them in a living room, and make it look like they were actually playing the game. Once I started to set up it became obvious to me that the living room would not work. I started to think it would be cool to put them in a place where they didn't belong. These railroad tracks are one of my favorite places to shoot and made a great backdrop for this photo. The best part of this whole photo shoot was the strange looks we kept getting from the people who saw us walking around on the Folsom bike path with Band Hero equipment. LOL

This photo is from my first maternity shoot. This is my beautiful neighbor Abby and her husband Chad. It was a really icky day out and I think it had been raining earlier. When it is overcast outside all the colors in a photograph really pop. I just love the blue and green tones in this photo.

This little guy here is Marcus and he is the product of the above maternity shoot. I shot this in Abby and Chad's dinning room using only window light and a reflector.

That is all I have for now. I have many many more images that can been seen at My Facebook Page. I'll also be posing more pictures soon. If you are interested in scheduling a photo session my packages start at $99 and I can be reached via email ztzlbrgr@yahoo.com or on Facebook. Have a great Saturday everyone !
